Telstra provides global network infrastructure to further enable growing suite of F5 Distributed Cloud Services, empowering customers and partners to provide leading digital experiences

MELBOURNE – F5’s partnership with Telstra spans 20 years, as F5 provides critical application security across the company’s IT and telco operations and for its customers and partners. Telstra is Australia’s leading telecommunications company supporting a diverse range of customers with heavy traffic volume that include consumers, small and large enterprises, and government organisations.

The partnership with Telstra has also seen F5 security and application delivery services provide key components of the telco’s network infrastructure solutions to increase resilience, speed, reliability, and security, and help its customers realise these benefits. In addition, the partnership helps created extended opportunities to deliver more comprehensive solutions aimed at simplifying operations and digitising organisations.

The combination of F5’s vision for adaptive applications with Telstra’s vision of an adaptive network will pave the way for additional market opportunities across Asia Pacific, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.

Organizations’ digital transformations—along with the adoption of hybrid and multi-cloud technologies—have accelerated in recent years. F5 has undertaken transforming efforts—bolstered by strategic acquisitions—to provide customers and partners with additional software and platform-based solutions focused on API security, bot protection, online identity, and edge computing.

Strengthened by this partnership, F5 now operates high-volume and secure points of presence (PoPs) in strategic locations globally. More PoPs in more locations help customers quickly deploy  leading application security, DDoS capabilities, and additional services for end users and customers—yielding incremental revenue opportunities as well. Telstra’s best-in-class international network, along with its infrastructure across Asia Pacific, technical expertise, agility, and detailed regional knowledge have been instrumental in helping F5 navigate the region’s challenges in building out a network with low latency, high availability, and physical path diversity.

“This partnership demonstrates our ongoing investment into the Asia Pacific region as we continue delivering high value services and solutions to our partners and customers, said Adam Judd, Senior Vice President for APCJ, F5. “The Asia Pacific region can present a unique set of challenges, and F5’s deep expertise and industry-leading platform agnostic integration capabilities combined with Telstra’s consultative approach, in-depth market analysis, and expansive data has enabled us to establish highly resilient infrastructure supporting F5 Distributed Cloud Services.”

In partnership with Telstra, F5 will continue to empower customers—Asia Pacific’s largest enterprises, service providers, financial and education institutions, government entities, and consumer brands—through innovative digital experiences by creating, securing, and optimizing applications across 4G/5G network core, data center, cloud, and edge environments.
