Speakers

chuck herrin

Chuck Herrin

Chuck Herrin is a veteran CISO and CTO, and current customer advocate and field CTO for F5 API Security. He is a global technology and cybersecurity executive and board member with consistent success driving secure transformational change, improving governance, and achieving business goals.

Chuck joined F5 via F5’s acquisition of Wib, an API security company where Chuck served as CTO. Prior to Wib, Chuck served in multiple senior leadership roles over 20 years in financial services. These positions include EVP & CISO of Texas Capital Bank and Global SVP, IT Security Risk and Compliance for all of AIG’s consumer-facing businesses. Chuck is active in multiple industry working groups. He is an author and frequent public speaker on technology risk management and security topics.

Sebastian Brandes

Sebastian Brandes

Sebastian is the co-founder of Heyhack—an automated pentesting startup acquired by F5 on February 26, 2024. At F5, he leads the product development of F5 Distributed Cloud Web App Scanning and its integration with the Web App and API Protection services from F5. Prior to Heyhack, Sebastian founded multiple startups and worked at Microsoft in the Developer Experience and Evangelism division. Sebastian is passionate about application security, designing great product experiences, and delivering smart and efficient solutions to complex problems. In his spare time he's a private pilot, avid kite surfer, and amateur cyclist.

Ken Arora

Ken Arora

Ken Arora is a Distinguished Engineer with F5's Office of the CTO, focusing on F5's AI Strategy and the definition of security solutions for AI applications. He is a contributor to the OWASP LLM Top 10 risks document, and multiple published blogs about AI security. Ken provides technical alignment and vision across multiple F5 security product development teams. He is responsible for evaluating emerging technical and business trends in AI to create a technical vision for securing future AI applications.

Ken’s background in product development spans both software and hardware, and he is responsible for many of F5’s hardware/software co-designed solutions—including the world's first ML-based, hardware assisted DDoS mitigation solution.  Before joining F5 in 2012, Ken was architect of Intel's Pentium and Pentium Pro processors and Cisco's ASA security product family. He later co-founded a startup that developed a hardware-accelerated solution stack for pattern matching. Interestingly, Ken's very first job out of college was the development of a hardware-accelerated neural net system used by DARPA (US Defense and Advanced Research Agency).

Peter Scheffler

Peter Scheffler

Peter Scheffler brings 30+ years of coding and engineering expertise to his current role as Senior Solutions Architect at F5. Peter brings a keen insight into web development and availability, and the protection of APIs and multicloud environments. With expertise of integrations, governance and expanding attack surface management, Peter’s customers lean into him for roadmaps and prioritizations that maintain their revenue streams. 

Corey Marshall

Corey Marshall

In his role as Director of Solutions Engineering at F5 Networks, Corey Marshall leads a global team of Solutions Architects for Security and Applications.  Corey Marshall applies his 20+ years of global experience in a broad range of domains including secure network and platform design, digital forensics and surveillance, incident response, regulatory compliance, and vulnerability assessment/penetration testing to the challenges and opportunities facing F5’s clients.  He currently focuses on web and mobile application security strategies and is recognized as one of F5’s leading experts in Zero Trust architectures.
