How to register

Go to the F5-CMS (certification.f5.com) and follow the instructions on your Home page. For step-by-step instructions, watch the Getting Started video.

Exam details

All F5 Certified exams cost $135 USD, not including local taxes and fees. Information about each F5 Certified exam can be found on the exam blueprint.

Preparing for exams

The exam blueprints and detailed study guides that are available in the F5-CMS will help you prepare for your exam. For additional help, F5 Training courses are available.

What to bring on exam day

You must bring two forms of valid, signed ID. One must be government-issued with a photo ID. The name on your ID MUST match the name listed on your Pearson VUE account. If this does not match, please update your name in the F5-CMS using the “Update Personal Information” link in the left nav.

Tracking your certification progress

The best place to track your progress is in the F5-CMS. Visit your Home page to see where you are in the certification process and to find exam information pertinent to you. To find exam results, go to the History tab in the F5-CMS and click on the “details” link to the right of your exam. Because of security reasons, we cannot issue section scores or detailed reports.

Rescheduling exams

If you need to reschedule your exam, you must do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled exam time. Please call Pearson VUE directly to reschedule your exam.

Exam retake policy

If you fail an exam, you will not be eligible to register to retake the exam for 15 days.

If you fail a second time, you will have to wait for 30 days before you are eligible to retake the exam.

A third failure requires a retake permission form and a 45-day wait period after the form is approved.

A fourth failure results in a two (2) year wait period.

Certificate expiration

F5 certifications are valid for two (2) years. Three months before the expiration date – when the F5-CMS says your status has "expired"—you'll become recertification eligible. When you're recertification eligible, you'll be able to register for the exam you want to recertify on the Pearson VUE site. You only need to retake the last exam in the highest certification level achieved. If your certification expires completely, you will need to start the certification process over from the beginning.

Requesting a new test center

If you live more than 55 miles from a Pearson VUE testing facility, you can request a test center closer to your location. Go to the F5-CMS and fill out the Test Center Request form under Complete a Form. Candidates can easily find the test center closest to them on the Pearson VUE website.

Changing candidate information

After registering in the F5-CMS, candidates can easily change their demographic information – such as address, phone, email, etc. – by logging into their account in the F5-CMS and clicking on “Update Personal Information” in the left nav.
