Exam details

All F5 exams cost $135 USD, not including local taxes and fees. Information about each F5 exam can be found on the exam blueprint, found on the exam pages.

Preparing for exams

The exam blueprints and detailed study guides that are available on exam pages will help you prepare for your exam. For additional help, F5 Training courses are available. Exam prep information can also be found on our F5 Certified! group on LinkedIn.

What to bring on exam day

You must bring two forms of valid, signed ID. One must be government-issued with a photo ID. The name on your ID MUST match the name listed on your Pearson VUE account.

If this does not match, please update your name in the Candidate Portal using the “Update Personal Information” button on your Home page, or by clicking the Demographics link in the top navigation bar.

Tracking your certification progress

The best place to track your progress is in the Candidate Portal. From the Home page, you can click on the "View your exam history" button to see exam information applicable to you. Or click "Track your certification status" to see where you are in the certification process. To find exam results, click the button marked "View your exam history." Because of security reasons, we cannot issue section scores or detailed reports.

Rescheduling exams

If you need to reschedule your exam, you must do so at least 24 hours before your scheduled exam time. Please call Pearson VUE directly to reschedule your exam. F5 cannot reschedule your exam for you. You must talk to Pearson Vue to reschedule.

Exam retake policy

If you fail an exam, you will not be allowed to sit for your retake exam for 15 days.

If you fail a second time, you will not be allowed to sit for your retake exam for 30 days.

If you fail a third time, you will not be allowed to sit for your retake exam for 45 days.

If you fail your exam a fourth time, you will not be allowed to sit for your retake exam for one year.

Certificate expiration

F5 certifications are valid for two (2) years. Three months before the expiration date, you will get an email alerting you of your upcoming expiration and encouraging you to register for your recertification exam. When you receive that email, you'll be able to register for the exam you want to recertify on the Pearson VUE site. In addition, you can also keep track of upcoming re-certifications and expirations on your Home page in the F5 Candidate Portal.

You only need to retake the last exam in the highest certification level achieved. If your certification expires completely, you will need to start the certification process over from the beginning.

Requesting a new test center

If you live more than 55 miles from a Pearson VUE testing facility, you can request a test center closer to your location. Go to the F5 Candidate Portal and click on the "Test Center Additions" button. Then, download and fill out the form to request a test center closer to you. Candidates can easily find the nearest test center on the Pearson VUE website.

Changing candidate information

After registering in the F5 Candidate Portal, candidates can easily change their demographic information—such as address, phone, email, etc.—by logging into their account and clicking on the “Change your personal information” button. Candidates can always review and change personal information by using the Demographics tab in the F5 Candidate Portal.
