Enterprise Network Engineer

You will be working on the AskF5 team crafting and maintaining articles for our knowledge base. In addition to authoring knowledge base content, AskF5 ENEs spend approximately 30% - 50% of their time reproducing technical procedures and product bugs in a lab environment. On our team, we expect you to demonstrate your product knowledge at a high level and show us your proven network engineering knowledge which includes design and troubleshooting.

In this role you will do the following:

  • Research, build, update, and maintain technical articles for the AskF5 knowledge base. Article content includes (but is not limited to) product procedures, features, bugs, and security advisories.
  • Work with our teams to obtain and verify article content.
  • Provision and configure equipment in a shared lab environment to test and verify content.
  • Work with AskF5 Technical Writers and AskF5 ENEs to improve the accuracy and consistency of submitted articles.
  • Manage case workloads, prioritize articles and deliver them quickly!
  • Chip in to process improvements within our team and the organization.

This is how you qualify:

  • Bring a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Hold an undergraduate Computer Science degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Expert knowledge of TCP/IP, including such topics as HTTP headers, ISO layers and TCP flags.
  • Expert knowledge of UNIX and Linux.
  • Proven experience and knowledge with network devices (routers, switches, etc.).
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of SSL, and DNS admin experience.
  • Familiarity with F5 Networks load-balancing and security products, preferably BIG-IP & BIG-IQ.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; verbal and written communication.
  • Familiarity with knowledge management systems a plus.
  • Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.
