Senior Manager Compliance EMEA

Position Summary

Under the guidance of the VP, Business Integrity, this new Senior Manager role will provide strategic and centralized leadership, innovation, and planning to promote a culture of integrity and compliance in EMEA. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and centralized leadership, innovation, and planning for all aspects of ethics and compliance to assure compliance with legal, regulatory, policy and ethical requirements impacting the f5.
  • Implement, maintain and drive f5’s ethics and compliance strategy, including the Code of Conduct.
  • Ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place (and translated as needed) to comply with applicable industry regulations.
  • Maintain f5’s policy framework to ensure policies are readily accessible for all employees.
  • Provide oversight and investigative response for the f5’s Whistleblower hotline. Ensure concerns raised are addressed in a timely manner to appropriate resolution.
  • Provide training and education to ensure employees understand their responsibilities regarding ethics and compliance issues, related policies and procedures.
  • Provide oversight and support for f5’s ethics and compliance risk assessment process.  Develop compliance tools, practices, and policies to monitor, identify, evaluate, analyze, mitigate, report, and manage operational and strategic risks.
  • Coordinate and manage an EMEA based compliance committee with representation from various compliance functions (i.e. Finance, Sales, and Human Resources).
  • Foster a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance awareness and accountability by building effective relationships across the f5.
  • Collaborate with other departments (audit, human resources, IT, finance) to direct compliance issues to appropriate resolution.
  • Establish and supervise a program for routine monitoring and auditing of compliance policies and procedures; identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develop and implement corrective action plans as necessary.
  • Research ethics and compliance industry trends, develop external contacts and participate in professional organizations to benchmark and identify best practices.
  • Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) from an accredited institution in a related field
  • Demonstrated directly related experience in compliance, enterprise risk management, auditing, project management, or closely related field
  • Prior experience in technology company and/or US based company
  • High level of professionalism and ethics
  • Advanced reasoning, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations in EMEA
  • Effective communication skills, including strong writing skills, and the ability to identify communication deficiencies and adapt accordingly
  • Advanced planning skills and flexibility, and the ability to analyze, assess and prioritize projects and pending tasks
  • Ability to accept considerable responsibility and work on difficult, highly technical projects and adjust strategy and behavior to achieve effective results in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Strong initiative and sound judgment
  • Demonstrated experience preparing oral and written investigative reports
  • Demonstrated experience managing and triaging anonymous ethics & compliance reports/complaints
  • Demonstrated experience developing, writing and managing enterprise policy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters or relevant professional degree from an accredited institution
  • Professional certification(s) such as Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional - International (CCEP-I), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or other related certification
