Be a Force for a Better Digital World
You are a force for a better digital world! As keepers of enterprise apps and APIs, you power digital experiences that run businesses, fuel supply-chains, enable economies, and serve and protect billions of people every day. But you and your teams are mired in the growing complexity, inefficiency, and risks of managing hundreds if not thousands of apps distributed across multiple environments. And with rapidly increasing demand for AI, you need to manage and protect even more workloads, distributed in more places. In his keynote, CEO François Locoh-Donou will share F5’s strategy to fight against complexity and empower your organizations not only to survive, but to thrive in the ‘app world.’
INDUSTRY KEYNOTE
Securing Generative AI Applications: Turn Disruption into Opportunity
Generative AI has opened the floodgates for innovation and organizations are keen to unleash this opportunity to improve productivity and gain a competitive advantage. However, guess what, there is no generative AI without API. Therefore, you must establish AI governance policies and implement guardrails in conjunction with your API strategy to securely build and deliver generative AI applications. This helps you mitigate risks such as sensitive information disclosure, adversarial prompting, denial of service, and IP theft involving unauthorized API access and malicious use of APIs. In his keynote, Gartner analyst Manjunath Bhat will outline top generative AI security trends and provide recommendations to navigate the complexity of this new attack surface.
François Locoh-Donou
President, Chief Executive Officer, and Director, F5
François Locoh-Donou is F5’s President, Chief Executive Officer, and a member of the Board of Directors. He joined F5 in April 2017, bringing to the office nearly two decades of enterprise technology experience building a wide range of products, teams, and operations around the world.
Locoh-Donou previously held successive leadership positions at Ciena, including Chief Operating Officer; Senior Vice President, Global Products Group; Vice President and General Manager, EMEA; Vice President, International Sales; and Vice President, Marketing. Prior to joining Ciena, he held research-and-development roles at Photonetics, a French opto-electronics company.
Locoh-Donou serves on the board of Capital One Financial Corporation (NYSE: COF). He is also the co-founder and Chairman of Cajou Espoir, a social enterprise focused on cashew processing that employs several hundred people in rural Togo, 80 percent of whom are women.
He holds engineering degrees from École Centrale de Marseille and Télécom ParisTech in France and a M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In this session, we will focus on the portfolio of Web App and API Protection (WAAP) solutions available in Distributed Cloud WAAP, BIG-IP, and NGINX that allow you to secure your workloads no matter where or how they are deployed. You will hear how we are unifying the experiences across our application security portfolio to make them easier to manage and deploy. The session will also cover how F5 products deal with advanced threats that can only be defeated with AI/ML available within the F5 product portfolio.
Secure Multi-Cloud Networking
Create a Next-Gen App Delivery Infrastructure with Distributed Cloud Multi-Cloud Networking
It’s time to dive into the world of multi-cloud networking. In this session, we will discuss how Distributed Cloud multi-cloud networking solutions create a new way to deliver your applications across multiple clouds, data centers, and the edge while maintaining full visibility, control and security. You will learn how Distributed Cloud allows you to seamlessly move and secure workloads with full layer 3 to layer 7 control and visibility. We’ll also discuss how multi-cloud networking can be extended to create a distributed application environment leveraging Distributed Cloud App Stack.
Mike Rau
General Manager of Distributed Cloud, F5
Michael Rau has been with F5 since 2015. Prior to F5, Mike worked at Cisco for 20 years in a variety of different executive level capacities in Systems and Solutions Engineering, Technical Strategy, Product Development, and served as the Field CTO for Cisco’s Enterprise Networking and Security portfolio. At F5, he initially served as the VP of Global Sales Solution Engineering and later became the SVP of Solutions Engineering and Enablement. In this expanded capacity, Mike was responsible for F5’s Public Cloud Alliances and F5’s Technology partnerships. Mike has been actively involved as the sales lead in all M&A activities for F5. He took a leadership role in F5’s acquisition of NGINX and Shape which included due diligence as well as the integration into F5. This experience led Mike to move into the role of SVP of Corporate and Business Development. In this role, Mike helped develop the company strategy for entering the Edge market and that work led to his leading the acquisition of Volterra as a next generation Edge platform. Seeing the shift in the importance of SaaS and Managed Services for SP and Enterprise customers, Mike moved into his current role where he is responsible for F5’s Distributed Cloud Services portfolio. As the General Manager of the business, he is responsible for the product development and delivery of F5’s Distributed Cloud SaaS Service. F5 Distributed Cloud Services include Application Security, Multicloud Networking, Edge Computing, CDN, and DNS services.
