Rich Malone and Glenn Edens named to F5 Networks Board of Directors

Technology industry leaders add depth and breadth to existing F5 Board

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the leading provider of secure Application Traffic Management products, today announced the appointment of Rich Malone, CIO of Edward Jones and Glenn Edens, recently vice president and chief strategist at HP, to the F5 Networks Board of Directors effective August 4, 2003.

With Edward Jones since 1979, Malone was named as one of the top five CIO's in the securities and investment industry in the 2001 Wall Street & Technology magazine CIO Elite Survey. Malone is currently a member of the BITS Advisory Group, the Xerox Executive Advisory Forum and is on the Technology Advisory Committee at Arizona State University. He is past chairman of the Securities Industry Association's Telecommunications and Information Management Committee, and former board member of the Securities Industry Automation Corp. Malone also served as a board member for KETC Channel 9, the public broadcasting television station in St. Louis for six years.

With a history of leading technology innovators such as HP, AT&T, Apple Computers and Xerox Corporation, Edens brings a wealth of experience driving strategic relationships and setting technology direction. Edens is a co-founder of WaveFrame Corp., the creator of the first all-digital audio workstation for the music, film and television industries, as well as co-founder of GRiD Systems Corporation, which created the laptop, notebook and pen-based computer industries.

Other F5 directors include Karl D. Guelich, chairman of the board, John McAdam, Jeffrey S. Hussey, Alan J. Higginson and Keith D. Grinstein.
