Japan's Leading Systems Integrator Selects F5 Networks' FirePass Product for Its Flagship SSL VPN Offering

CTC and F5 Networks sign distribution partnership, building upon CTC's success in delivering security products and services to enterprises and service providers

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the leading provider of Application Traffic Management products, today announced that it has signed a distribution partnership agreement with ITOCHU TECHNO-SCIENCE Corporation (CTC), Japan's leading Systems Integrator. The partnership significantly broadens F5 Networks Japan K.K.'s reach and opens new opportunities for F5's SSL VPN (Secure Sockets Layer Virtual Private Network) product, FirePass® controller. The agreement gives CTC access to F5's SSL VPN product, enabling CTC to expand its offerings to include the industry's most comprehensive secure remote access solution.

"CTC works closely with Japan's top enterprises and service providers who have an escalating need to provide secure remote access for their employees, partners and other constituents," said Akira Saito, VP & GM, IT Engineering Group, ITOCHU TECHNO-SCIENCE Corporation. "We're pleased that we can offer customers F5's FirePass product, which will nicely round out CTC's system integration services for the security arena."

CTC offers a wide breadth of services and products in the security arena, such as firewall, intrusion protection systems, and authentication solutions. Adding the FirePass product as a core component of their managed service offering enables CTC to expand and enhance the security features of their system integration services. The primary targets for this service include enterprises in manufacturing and financial verticals and service providers that plan to offer remote access service for their users.

"We are excited about our strategic partnership with a company of CTC's stature and one that's based on the strengths of our FirePass product," said Tim Goodwin, President of F5 Networks Japan K.K. "Large businesses from all around the country rely on CTC for a total systems solution with a growing emphasis on security. CTC's selection of FirePass as their flagship SSL VPN solution is yet another proof point of F5's outstanding product innovation and leadership."

About FirePass Controller

The FirePass Controller is the industry's first SSL VPN solution with complete cross-platform support and offers the broadest application access, including Web hosts, client-server applications, and legacy hosts. Unlike IPSec VPN products that require the installation of special client software, the FirePass solution offers a clientless SSL VPN service that leverages any standard browser interface. It also offers the only open API (Application Programming Interface) and SDK (Software Developer's Kit) that enables 3rd party application vendors to build seamless, secure remote access into their client applications.
