F5's BIG-IP System Chosen by FX PRIME for Business Continuity and Stability of Online Trading Services

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, announced today that the FX PRIME Corporation, a foreign currency exchange company, has deployed the F5® BIG-IP® Global Traffic Manager (GTM) solution to provide an optimized end-user experience and business continuity across multiple data centers. With F5, FX PRIME has constructed a service infrastructure to meet the demanding needs and "always on" nature of foreign exchange markets.

FX PRIME has deployed BIG-IP GTM to manage customers' online trading and ensure website availability in case of a site failure at the primary data center. This solution enables operations to be shifted from one site to another in the event of an unforeseen disaster or accident. BIG-IP GTM also reduces the time needed to redirect application traffic from the usual one to two minutes to less than 30 seconds.

FX PRIME had previously deployed F5's BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) to maintain high availability in response to the increased trading volume experienced in recent years, enabling the company to optimize traffic and process transactions efficiently. With the BIG-IP system, FX PRIME is able to perform health checks on servers and content for both local and global application traffic.

In addition, the use of F5's proprietary iRules programming capability enabled FX PRIME to customize their infrastructure to support access from mobile phones, overcoming the persistence issues that typically hinder mobile access.

Eager to build on its successful BIG-IP deployments, FX PRIME is also considering making all of its sites IPv6 compatible, leveraging BIG-IP LTM's IPv6 capabilities for the transition.
