F5 Showcases Award-Winning Data Management Solutions at SNW Fall 2011

Live product demos highlight how F5’s ARX solutions help customers reduce the cost and complexity of file data management

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that it will exhibit its award-winning ARX® solutions at the SNW Fall 2011 conference taking place October 10-13 at the JW Marriott Grande Lakes in Orlando, Fla.

F5 will conduct ongoing demonstrations of its ARX series, including the ARX Cloud Extendersolution, highlighting the products’ intelligent storage tiering capabilities. Demos will illustrate the ease with which data can be automatically moved between tiers, including the cloud, and how cloud storage can be seamlessly integrated into existing file storage environments using automated storage tiering policies.

F5 experts will be on hand at the event to help attendees identify key strategies for reducing the cost and complexity of managing file data. By virtualizing their file storage infrastructures and implementing automated data management policies, organizations can achieve dramatic improvements in storage utilization, data migration and backup times, and operational efficiencies while driving down capital expenditures.

Attendees are encouraged to visit F5 at booth #99 for a personalized technology demonstration. As part of the conference agenda and presentation schedule, attendees are also invited to the following F5 customer presentations at SNW Fall 2011 (specific location information will be available onsite):

  • Bloomington Public Schools/IlliniCloud – Building a Private Cloud to Provide Consistent Enterprise-Quality Storage Services

Date/Time:  Wednesday, October 12, 3:05 to 3:50 p.m. ET
Speaker:  Jason Radford, System Administrator, Bloomington Public Schools/IlliniCloud
Description: In public education, there is a wide disparity in the technical and financial abilities of individual school districts to provide the IT services mandated by government regulations. This makes K-12 an ideal candidate for rolling out a private cloud storage infrastructure. In this presentation, Jason Radford will explain how IlliniCloud, a non-profit co-op, has built an infrastructure that provides school districts in Illinois and other states with the IT infrastructure needed to serve their students.

  • iN DEMAND – Virtualization Strategies to Manage Big Data

Date/Time:  Thursday, October 13, 11:15 a.m. to noon ET
Speaker:  Michael Raposa, Senior Director of Infrastructure, iN DEMAND
Description: Very large data sets can be extremely unwieldy to manage. At iN DEMAND, the success of the business depends on the company’s ability to effectively manage over 300 TB of file data that needs to be accessible at a moment’s notice. Michael Raposa will share how iN DEMAND deployed a heterogeneous global namespace to grow its business, supporting both its video transcoding workflow and all of its customer-facing video servers from a single digital content library, while reducing capital and operational costs.
