F5 selected by Arsys to ease current and future deployments of the CloudBuilder® solution

Leading Spanish Cloud Provider chooses F5 BIG-IP® Local Traffic Manager™ Virtual Edition for its stability, performance and simple integration with client solutions

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM) Virtual Edition (VE) has been picked by Arsys, an Internet leader in technology and innovation, for their CloudBuilder solution.

Arsys provides services relating to Internet presence, cloud computing, managed hosting and technology infrastructure solutions. The growth of the company’s cloud hosting platform meant that Arsys needed to improve the control plane architecture of its CloudBuilder solution, which allows Arsys clients to have their own cloud-based IT infrastructure.

Álvaro Mata, Head of Platform at Arsys, said, “We opted for BIG-IP LTM VE because it provides a perfect fit between virtual and physical environments. Furthermore, the solution's developer API, iControl, is very well documented and there is a large community behind this that provides highly qualified and direct feedback.”

Arsys chose BIG-IP LTM VE for its performance capability and its ability to simply integrate with CloudBuilder’s existing functionality and planned development. F5 Gold UNITY partner Satec completed the project implementation and the first Arsys client was up and running on BIG-IP LTM VE in under a week. All existing Arsys clients have now been migrated to the new platform. BIG-IP LTM VE can be used to apply specific application policies on a per-customer basis to meet individual business priorities.

Miguel Salgado, General Manager, Spain and Portugal at F5 commented: “One of the major benefits of the F5 platform for Arsys is its ability to meet future needs. BIG-IP LTM VE allows Arsys to develop and bring to market new service offerings around CloudBuilder, meeting their key client requirements of ease of deployment, no installation costs, flexibility and efficient pay-per-use.”

CloudBuilder is built on Arsys’ cloud hosting platform, which uses leading technology including VMware vSphere cloud operating system, IBM servers, HP 3PAR storage units and F5 Networks. Arsys’ data centre has a capacity of more than 15,000 servers and Arsys customers benefit from 24x7 customer service.
