F5 Positioned in Visionaries Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers by Leading Independent Analyst Firm

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced it has been positioned in the Visionaries Quadrant by Gartner, Inc. in the "Magic Quadrant for WAN Optimization Controllers, 2006" report1. F5 was one of 16 vendors evaluated in the report.

"F5 is pleased to be placed in the Visionaries Quadrant in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for WAN optimization controllers," said Erik Giesa, VP of Product Management and Marketing at F5. "We believe earning this placement from Gartner not only underscores F5's commitment to delivering the most cost-effective, intuitive, and flexible solutions for improving application performance, but also our solid track record for innovation and anticipating customer needs. An end-to-end solution is what customers require-in the data center as well as the delivery from the data center to clients. F5 is poised to deliver this solution most effectively to the market."

In its report, Gartner evaluated WOC (WAN optimization controller) vendors on their ability to execute as well as on the completeness of their vision. In judging technology providers on their ability and success in capitalizing on their vision, Gartner analysts assessed the quality and efficiency of the processes, systems, and methods the company uses to help ensure its competitiveness, efficiency and effectiveness and to positively impact revenue, retention and reputation.

F5 has the technology, vision, and expertise to bring together best-of-breed solutions to address customers' needs in the application acceleration market, both now and in the future. And, just as the WOC and ADC (Application Delivery Controller) spaces are converging, so are F5's technologies as the Company integrates products and features onto its advanced TMOS platform. F5 is the only technology leader in the market driving this integration and consolidation, not only through TMOS, but also through strategic partnerships with other vendors.

Today F5 offers multiple WOC products that can either be used separately or combined to provide WAN optimization. These products include WANJet ®, WebAccelerator, BIG-IP ® Link Controller and BIG-IP Global Traffic Manager.
