F5 Networks Named One of Washington’s Best Workplaces by Puget Sound Business Journal

2010 Finalists honored and winners announced at special event on August 12

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking (ADN), was named as one of the finalists for Washington’s Best Workplaces by the Puget Sound Business Journal. The program was launched in 2007 to identify and recognize best practices in the hiring and retention of great people. After an extensive and rigorous process, which included the completion of surveys by nominee-company employees across the state, workplaces in five different categories—small, medium, large, extra-large company, and nonprofit organization—have been identified as Washington’s best, based on their various employee benefit offerings, leadership culture, and work/life balance philosophies. In total, 80 companies have made the grade as finalists.

Since it was founded in 1996, Seattle-based F5 Networks has grown into a company of more than 1,800 employees with offices in 30 countries, and revenue of over $650M in fiscal year 2009. The company is the global leader of Application Delivery Networking solutions. F5® products and services optimize the availability, security, and performance of enterprise applications such as online banking, airline reservation systems, and Microsoft Exchange Server, as well as Service Provider offerings, including video, voice over IP, and advanced text messaging. From its waterfront offices—which feature stunning views of the Puget Sound and Olympic Mountains—F5 promotes a strong work/life balance for its people, who are known for being passionate about technology, committed to excellence, and always up for a good time.

“We’re thrilled to be recognized as one of Washington’s best workplaces for 2010,” said Laurie Likai, VP of Human Resources at F5. “It’s gratifying to know that our employees think so highly of F5 that they want to spread the word to others who are looking for a great place to work. We recognize that our employees—who consistently deliver outstanding results—are our greatest asset. We are 100 percent committed to keeping them happy and productive by providing a supportive work environment and offering creative employee programs, exceptional benefits, and unusual perks.”

“Work-force development has never been more important—or more difficult—than it is in today’s global economy,” said Emory Thomas, Jr., Publisher of the Business Journal. “We believe the Business Journal, as the Puget Sound area’s top source of business information, has an important role to play in drawing attention to innovations and excellence in the management of our region’s No. 1 resource: its people.”

The 80 finalists will be celebrated at a one-of-a-kind awards event at Safeco Field on Thursday, August 12. Honorees and the public alike are invited to cheer for the workplace accomplishments of these companies from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The celebration will include ballpark food and drink, walking the bases, speed pitching, and an awards presentation.
