F5 Networks Listed Among 100 Fastest Growing Technology Companies

Citing strong revenue and earnings, Business 2.0 magazine recognizes F5 on annual list of industry growth leaders
F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced it has earned a No.18 ranking on Business 2.0 magazine's Top 100 Fastest-Growing Tech Companies for 2005. In addition to the overall placement, F5 also secured the No. 3 spot for companies in Washington State, with annualized earnings growth of 212 percent over a three year period.

The list, abbreviated as the B2 100, will appear in Business 2.0's June 2006 issue. An article accompanying the list pronounces that "Tech is back," citing increased hiring in addition to improved revenue and stock performance trends among technology companies. Listed companies were responsible for over 70,000 hires in 2005, with F5 achieving a No. 26 ranking in the magazine's Job Growth index and recording a headcount increase of 29.2 percent.

"We are extremely proud of the company's growth in recent years," said Andy Reinland, SVP and Chief Finance Officer at F5. "Business 2.0's recognition of F5 is a testament to our quality staff, strategic vision and our solid track record for executing in a very competitive market."

This marks the fourth year that the B2 100 has been compiled. To be considered, a company must have three years of trading on a major U.S. stock exchange, at least $50 million in annual revenue, and positive cash flow during the most recently reported 12-month period. Companies meeting the criteria were ranked by Business 2.0 editors and Zacks Investment Research of Chicago, with the evaluators using a combination of four financial criteria to establish placement: growth in revenue, profit, and operating cash flow during the past three years, and 12-month stock return. Cash flow growth represented 40 percent of a company's rank, with each of the other criteria counting for 20 percent.
