F5 Networks Leads the Layer 4-7 Switch Market in Japan for the Second Consecutive Year

Recent study from Fuji Chimera Research Institute, Inc. study ranks F5's BIG-IP number one
F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that a recent study1 by Fuji Chimera Research Institute, Inc. ranks F5 Networks as the market leader in Japan for the category of "Layer 4-7 Switches; Application Switch" for the second consecutive year.

F5 achieved a 46.7 percent share of the market for 2004 (March 2003 to April 2004), an increase of 8.7 percent over the previous period. Additionally, the study forecasts a 50.4 percent share for F5 in 2005.

According to the study, F5 Networks is a global leader in "Layer 4-7 Switches; Application Switch" category. The study recognized F5 for its leadership in the load balancer market and stated that there has been widespread adoption of the company's BIG-IP® v9 Application Delivery solution since its release in September 2004.
