F5 Networks Joins Microsoft Partner Solutions Center

BIG-IP Application Switches Recognized by Microsoft for Its Ability to Optimize Mission-Critical Web Service Applications

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the leading provider of Application Traffic Management products, today announced that F5 Networks has expanded its commitment to the Microsoft platform by participating as a Project Partner in the Microsoft Partner Solutions Center (MPSC), a facility designed to bring together world-class technology companies dedicated to the rapid development of secure, end-to-end network solutions needed by enterprise and service provider customers in order to maintain a competitive advantage in today's marketplace. In addition to using F5's industry leading BIG-IP® Application Switches in the MPSC demo facility, F5 Networks will provide technology training, demos and collateral for enterprise customers and other MPSC members, which will be accessible online by anyone, worldwide.

"F5 Networks' participation in the MPSC is tangible proof of iControl's enterprise value and a natural extension to F5's ongoing commitment to providing an available, reliable and scaleable datacenter architecture," said Lucinda Borovick, Director, Data Center Networks, IDC.

F5 Networks' products are showcased at the MPSC as turnkey solutions that enterprises and service providers can easily replicate and deploy. F5's BIG-IP Application Switches are used for demonstrations, testing, proof-of-concept and benchmarking by Microsoft Corp. and participants in the MPSC, such as enterprise customers, industry partners, and service providers. Through F5's unique, open iControl™ API, F5's products unify applications with the network, providing complete interface support for Microsoft technologies as well as carrier-class availability for its hosted messaging solutions based on Microsoft Exchange.

"The MPSC is dedicated to showcasing proven, multi-vendor solutions built on the Microsoft Windows Platform and related technologies that will enable customers to positively affect their businesses," said Charley Pitcher, Director of Partner Alliances, Microsoft Partner Solutions Center at Microsoft. "We're pleased to have F5 participate in the MPSC and are confident that our customers will see significant value now that F5's BIG-IP Application Switches are deployed."

F5's BIG-IP devices deployed at the MPSC offer groundbreaking features and capabilities for building high-performance networks that can understand and securely support any IP-based application. With BIG-IP products, customers can apply all the benefits (high availability, scalability, security, and increased performance) delivered by traditional Internet Traffic Management products to any IP-based application, such as Web Services, enterprise or mobile applications. Without the BIG-IP device, the types of protocols these applications use (e.g. SIP, XML, SQL, etc.) cannot not be acted upon by network devices without designing the functions directly into the application or deploying a complex number of point solutions. With the BIG-IP device, customers can significantly increase the ROI of their applications and infrastructure investment.

"The MPSC offers Microsoft customers and service providers an outstanding way to get hands-on experience and see proven solutions that they can rapidly apply to their own environments," said Jim Ritchings, Vice President of Business Development at F5 Networks. "We're excited to demonstrate our unique capabilities at the MPSC where we can validate how F5 enhances the ROI of Microsoft solutions by streamlining the deployment, and maximizing the reliability and availability of Microsoft applications."
