the Interop NOC

“F5 Networks is proud to be providing essential services for Interop 2011, which has one of the most complex and demanding application and networking environments,” said Dan Matte, SVP of Marketing and Business Development at F5. “Our performance-leading BIG-IP platforms loaded with our advanced software modules will support well over 10,000 Interop organizers, vendors, and attendees to ensure superior availability and reliability of network services.”

F5’s BIG-IP® Application Delivery Controllers (ADCs) are deployed at the heart of the Interop NOC and at two colocation sites. F5 is supporting the Interop NOC IPv6 environment, providing network and DNS translations and facilitating access and functionality for both IPv4 and IPv6 clients to resources on the Interop network. F5 is also providing an IPv6 gateway to the www.interop.com website.

The F5® BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager (LTM®) and Global Traffic Manager (GTM) products ensure global availability and functionality of critical system services such as DNS, SMTP, and NTP for Interop vendors and attendees. BIG-IP LTM also provides an access portal for all web traffic from the Interop wireless networks. Other BIG-IP software modules deployed include BIG-IP Access Policy Manager (APM), WebAccelerator, and WAN Optimization Module (WOM®). “There are enormous demands placed on the Interop NOC in order to support vendors’ product offerings, heavy wireless traffic, and application access by thousands of users with a range of devices,” said Lenny Heymann, Interop General Manager. “We’re excited to have F5’s application delivery solutions working as part of the team to ensure that Interop’s infrastructure can support our show objectives and provide IT decision makers with a positive experience.”
