F5 Networks Cited as One of the Top 5 Seattle-based Companies in The Seattle Times' Northwest 100 Listing

The Seattle Times analyzed four key performance indicators for its listing of the top publicly held companies in the Pacific Northwest: Return on Equity, Sales per Employee, Operating Income and Stock Price Appreciation
F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Traffic Management, announced today that F5 Networks is ranked in the top five best performing companies based in Seattle, along with others such as Nordstrom and Starbucks, according to The Seattle Times 14th annual edition of the Northwest 100. The Seattle Times study measured four key performance indicators, including return on equity, sales per employee, operating income, and stock price appreciation. According to the Seattle Times, the 'return on equity' criterion received the greatest weight because it is the single best measure of how well a company performs for its shareholders.

"The company's successful standing in The Seattle Times study reflects F5's solid execution and increasing share of the rapidly expanding market for products that help global enterprises secure, optimize and deliver business critical applications," said John McAdam, President and CEO of F5 Networks. "The results of The Seattle Times study highlight the strength of our business model, which has enabled F5 to leverage our market-leading technology and industry partnerships to deliver consistent growth in revenues, profitability and cash flow from operations."

In the overall Northwest 100 listing, F5 achieved a ranking of # 12. And, out of the 100 companies, F5 has been ranked #3 and #4 for net income growth and operating income growth, respectively. A total of 126 companies qualified for the Northwest 100 ranking. All data was compiled from Bloomberg News, Securities and Exchange Commission filings and company reports. The study analyzed two years' worth of data. To read more about The Seattle Times' Top 100 go to http://texis.seattletimes.nwsource.com/cgi-bin/texis.cgi/nw100/ranker.
