F5 Networks Announces Cooperative Support Agreement with Oracle

Agreement paves the way for enhanced customer support efficiencies for enterprises deploying F5's BIG-IP products with Oracle Application Server 10g

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Traffic Management, today announced it has signed a global Cooperative Support Agreement (CSA) with Oracle to help ensure streamlined support of customers using F5's BIG-IP® product with Oracle® Application Server 10g, a component of Oracle Fusion Middleware. Through this CSA, customers deploying the F5-Oracle solution can call either company for technical support of BIG-IP systems deployed with Oracle Application Server 10g.

"F5's BIG-IP has been designed into a number of Oracle's mission-critical architectures, such as the Maximum Availability Architecture," said Julian Critchfield, Vice President, Oracle Server Technologies. "The investment that our companies have made in cross-training support staff on BIG-IP demonstrates Oracle's commitment to enabling customers to maximize the availability, scalability and performance of their Oracle technology."

F5 has been a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork since May 2001. Since then, F5 and Oracle have worked together to thoroughly test and document best practices for configuring the BIG-IP system with Oracle Application Server 10g. The Cooperative Support Agreement is the latest move by F5 and Oracle to help increase satisfaction among their joint customers. It enhances the customer service experience by enabling a fully coordinated approach from technical support personnel of both companies.

Today, customers with a F5 and an Oracle Support contract can call either company for support questions regarding their F5-Oracle implementation and receive seamless assistance. The agreement between F5 and Oracle encompasses an ongoing, comprehensive and combined effort from both companies, including (1) Joint call handling, transfer and escalation of support issues, (2) Joint, ongoing interoperability testing of F5-Oracle integrated solutions, (3) Training of each other's support personnel, and (4) Co-authoring support documentation for F5-Oracle integrated solutions.

"The Cooperative Support Agreement adds to our Oracle value proposition by minimizing risk and providing the highest value to our mutual customers," said Julian Eames, Sr. Vice President of Business Operations at F5 Networks. "Our agreement with Oracle simplifies and accelerates the support process by establishing formalized cooperation between support professionals at both F5 and Oracle. Now, with a single call, our mutual customers can leverage the combined technical support services of both companies."
