F5 Joins the RSA Secured Partner Program to Strengthen Digital Identities with Two-Factor Authentication

Interoperability with RSA SecurID authentication solution guarantees best of breed security with F5's award-winning BIG-IP Application Traffic Management product for reliable, secure access

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader of Application Traffic Management products, has completed integration between its flagship traffic management solution, BIG-IP®, and the RSA SecurID® solution for more reliable authentication in mixed-user environments. BIG-IP is one of the first traffic management products to achieve RSA SecurID Ready certification.

An effective e-business strategy needs to grow with an organization's ever-expanding digital boundaries. Successful enterprises require a scalable security framework in which vital information and applications are safe -- whether being used remotely or inside the traditional corporate network.

The technology partnership between F5 Networks and RSA Security helps end users efficiently and cost-effectively manage the digital identities of diverse user bases. BIG-IP administrators can now utilize two-factor authentication with their BIG-IP system, requiring users to combine their own password with a generated security token prior to device access.

"We've teamed with RSA Security to jointly provide a complete trusted identity and access management solution that's extremely easy to implement," said Jim Ritchings, Vice-President of Business Development at F5 Networks. "Many large enterprises have standardized on RSA SecurID two-factor authentication, so this provides a stronger solution for enterprise customers. This is a win-win for RSA Security and F5 customers."

The RSA Secured certification creates a powerful technology partnership that leverages market-leading security products with the award-winning BIG-IP secure traffic management technology. As part of the RSA Secured Partner Program, F5 has been awarded RSA SecurID Ready certification, signaling its interoperability with RSA Security's authentication technology.

"With the growth of mobile and remote users, companies are struggling to maintain secure access to vital information and applications," said Stuart Cohen, Director of Partner Development at RSA Security. "Our technology partnership with F5 Networks helps organizations balance user enablement with security that is vital to the success of e-business. Our relationship with F5 allows our joint customers to select the right level of investment for easier, faster deployment of a security solution that can support a successful, growing identity and access management infrastructure."
