F5 Addresses Enterprise Customers' Top Priorities with BIG-IP Solutions for the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem

F5's market-leading BIG-IP solutions optimize performance of enterprise-class applications, reduce complexity and cost, and help customers accelerate business growth

In a move to give customers the flexibility to choose a secure multi-vendor IT environment instead of costly proprietary models, F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV) today announced that it has become a member of the HP ProCurve Open Network Ecosystem (HP ProCurve ONE) program. F5, a global leader in Application Delivery Networking, will provide its BIG-IP® Application Delivery Controller (ADC) products to extend the flexibility, scalability, and security within the HP ProCurve ONE infrastructure.

"HP ProCurve ONE offers customers a choice of networking alternatives through collaboration with technology leaders, freeing businesses from proprietary, single-vendor environments when building or transforming their IT infrastructure," said Dan Matte, SVP of Marketing and Business Development at F5 Networks. "As a recognized player in the ADC market, F5 aligns well with HP's data center transformation initiatives, which directly support global enterprise customers' key IT and business goals of lowering costs, reducing risk, and accelerating business growth through IT agility and operational efficiency."

The new HP ProCurve ONE multi-vendor alliance program, announced today, delivers tested and certified solutions that are interoperable with HP ProCurve technology. Through HP's ProCurve ONE program, global enterprise organizations are able to utilize best-in-class applications and services to deliver a consistent networking environment without the uncertainty often found in traditional multi-vendor solutions. ProCurve ONE solutions are intended to address the top enterprise customer needs of accelerating business growth, lowering costs, and mitigating risks-with the result being improved business outcomes.

"Enterprises are increasingly looking for open, best-of-breed alternatives to increase the performance/cost ratio while mitigating the operational and support risk of introducing new vendors," said Mark Fabbi, VP and Distinguished Analyst at Gartner. "Virtualized, open platforms that include a strong level of certification and support are well suited to meet these emerging demands."

As a strategic alliance partner, F5 is collaborating with HP ProCurve to help customers bolster security, reduce complexity of network management, and enhance network and data center performance. F5's Application Delivery Networking (ADN) solutions will be incorporated into technical and sales training for HP ProCurve's sales force and channel partners, and F5 will also be invited to participate in regional channel partner events.

"To help customers address the increased pace of change within their businesses, HP ProCurve is combining its own technology with some of the most innovative, respected, and visionary companies in the world," said Marius Haas, senior vice president and general manager, HP ProCurve. "HP ProCurve and our HP ProCurve ONE alliance partners have a common goal of helping customers accelerate the adoption of next-generation data centers by adding network infrastructure solutions to one of the industry's broadest portfolios of servers, storage, services, and software."
