F5 Wins 2013 Telecoms.com LTE Award

Independent panel votes F5® Traffix™ Signaling Delivery Controller™ ‘Best LTE Core Network Element’

SEATTLE—F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV) has been recognized with a Telecoms.com LTE Award in the Best LTE Core Network Element category. The announcement was made during LTE World Summit, held June 24–26 in Amsterdam. The award recognizes core network elements that are exceptional in their area, contributing to making LTE more attractive for operators to deploy, and to the success of commercial LTE deployments.

“With more live deployments than any other Diameter signaling vendor in the industry, this award reinforces F5’s market leadership,” said Ben Volkow, VP of Product Development, F5. “A robust Diameter signaling management solution is the nervous system of a network—the element that ensures network performance, reliability, and service quality. F5’s Traffix organization was the first to focus 100 percent on Diameter signaling management solutions, and we’re delighted that our efforts to help educate the market have been recognized.”

The F5 Traffix Signaling Delivery Controller (SDC) addresses some of the unprecedented challenges of LTE, specifically the constant upswing in the use of smartphones and the resulting need for operators to manage the consequent uncontrolled signaling between network elements in maintaining network performance.

The F5 Traffix SDC features a context-aware routing engine for reliable signaling overload control and the network visibility required for immediate identification and prevention of service issues. It has been deployed worldwide by operators to control network signaling and provide optimal network performance and reliability.
