F5 Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of the 'Application Delivery Products' Magic Quadrant

Evaluation Based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced it has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of the most recent Gartner, Inc. Magic Quadrant for Application Delivery Products, 20051. According to Gartner, Inc., 'Leaders' are performing well today, have a clear vision of market direction, and are actively building competencies to sustain their leadership position. Vendors included in the Magic Quadrant demonstrate the ability to solve important application challenges within the enterprise by offering products that optimize the delivery of application software over networks. According to the report, vendors listed in the Leader quadrant have exhibited an ability to shape the market by introducing additional capabilities in their product offering and by raising the awareness of the importance of these features.

According to the Magic Quadrant report, application delivery provides a set of functions to optimize enterprise applications. The market evolved out of early load-balancing systems that were developed specifically to ensure the availability of Web sites. Today, application delivery is used by enterprises to optimize reliability, end-user performance, data center resource utilization and security for a variety of enterprise applications.

"We believe F5's placement on Gartner's Magic Quadrant is an indicator that we are right on target for not only addressing enterprise customers' needs today, but also providing the vision needed to help the market evolve and grow in order to tackle customers' future application delivery challenges," said Dan Matte, SVP of Marketing at F5. "Thanks to F5's unparalleled TMOS architecture, advanced iRules capabilities, and our growing DevCentral community, we've set the bar for Application Delivery Networking solutions."
