F5 BIG-IP Application Security Manager Honored by China’s IT Community

F5 Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: FFIV), the global leader in Application Delivery Networking, today announced that China’s foremost IT authority, the China Center for Information Industry Development (CCID), and leading IT publication NetAdmin World Monthly, have jointly recognized F5’s BIG-IP® Application Security Manager (ASM) as the most recommended web application security product in 2010.

The award was presented at the 2010 Security Risk Management Conference, which was organized by CCID and NetAdmin World. BIG-IP ASM was selected from among other leading solutions by a panel of security and technology experts from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the State Information Center, the Ministry of Public Security, and other government bodies.

“It is a great honor to receive this recognition for BIG-IP ASM from one of the most prestigious IT award programs in the country,” said Francis Zhang, General Manager of F5 China. “Today, rich Internet applications are opening up new opportunities as well as new risks for enterprises as they push the limits of their IT infrastructure to keep up with business demands. As a result, some of the most serious security threats come from attacks that target vulnerabilities in enterprise applications. The BIG-IP system combines application security with optimization and acceleration technologies, giving enterprises comprehensive web application security and data protection without compromising application performance.”

BIG-IP ASM is an advanced web application firewall that significantly reduces and mitigates the risk of loss or damage to data, intellectual property, and web applications. It provides end-to-end application protection, advanced monitoring, and centralized reporting, and helps organizations address key regulatory mandates such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, Basel II, SOX, and others.
